Students enrolled
at Reedley College pay a health fee which provides on-campus accident insurance and Health Services as described below. The Health Services Office, located in the Student Services building (extension 3328), is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening students may call 638-0328 for an appointment.

Services provided
by the Health Services Office (HSO) include:

1. Nursing assessment
for acute or chronic health concerns, which may result in patient education, over-the-counter treatment and/or recommendations, or referral to appropriate health care providers or community agencies. The HSO utilizes a wide variety of resources throughout the county to assist students with limited resources. All services are confidential.

2. Health and Psychological counseling is available regarding access to health care, diet/nutrition, exercises, immunizations, prevention and treatment of heart disease, stroke and diabetes, mental health problems, reproductive health, diet/nutritional information, substance abuse, smoking cessation, domestic violence prevention, and the prevention of sexually transmitted infection and HIV.

3. Psychological
Services are available as eight, one-hour confidential counseling sessions per semester at no charge to Reedley College student. This care is provided by a licensed clinical psychologist and supervised graduate interns. Smoking cessation, eating disorder, alcohol abuse, anxiety and depression screening and counseling is available through this program.

4. In addition to the accident policy provided to enrolled students, medical and extended accident coverage is available through Student Insurance at reasonable rates.
NOTE: This accident insurance policy (provided by Reedley College) is secondary to a student's family policy and it is the student's responsibility to report all injuries to his/her instructor and to follow up with the claim process. The HSO may assist with this process, but the students is responsible for all his/her medical expenses.

5. Health and wellness education is available. You will find current materials including videos, journals, books, pamphlets and internet access to a variety of websites available for students.

6.
Testing includes vision, hearing, hemoglobin, urine, blood sugar, and the tuberculin skin test.

7. Sports physicals are provided in cooperation with the Athletic department. Blood donation is available quarterly. Blood pressure screening is available daily.
