Hardware and software requirements
- Students must have access to a computer
with Internet connection - the faster the better (DSL or cable modem
recommended).
- Recommended hardware and software:
- Pentium (III, IV, XP or later) processor with at least
800 Mhz with Windows 98 or higher
(Win XP) -
or Mac G4-G5 or higher
- 128 Megabytes of RAM or greater
- 16-32 bit (or higher) audio card with speakers
- Monitor and video card capable of
displaying 800x600 pixels or greater
- CD-ROM (or DVD) drive
- 40 GB hard drive or larger
- 56.6 kps modem; DSL or cable modem
recommended
- wireless card (802.11b or 802.11g
preferred because data received much faster)
- Inkjet or laser printer
- Internet Service Provider (ISP such as CVIP,
Comcast, AOL, Earthlink, etc.) with email address
- Internet Explorer 5.0 - 6.0 or higher or Netscape 5.0-6.0 or higher
- Microsoft Word or other word
processing program
