c. P-diethylbenzene + bromine, FeBr₃ catalyst.

d. M-dimethylbenzene (=m-xylene) + conc. nitric acid ( conc.sulfuric acid catalyst).

e. Toluene +  propanoyl chloride, AlCl₃ catalyst.

Extra Credit.

Starting with benzene how would you make m-chloroacetophenone? Show all reactions drawing structural formulas and include appropriate catalysts.
