What is Environmental Horticulture? |
|
Environmental Horticulture, by its very nature, is an environmental occupation. Men and women who work in horticulture share an enthusiasm for working outdoors, improving the land and beautifying the landscape. They enjoy the diversity and creative challenges that environmental horticulture offers and fell rewarded and satisfied after a day's work.
Environmental horticulture is the career field in which skilled people produce, market, install and care for the living plants that sustain our urban environment. It includes wholesale and retail nursery businesses, greenhouse production of cut flowers and potted plants, and floral design services. Environmental horticulture also encompasses the entire landscape and turf industry, which designs, constructs, installs and maintains attractive and useful outdoor environments. About our Program
